Rosy Petri, Paradise Home

Thanks to the brilliant Milwaukee-based artist Rosy Petri for the design of our beautiful logo. Rosy is our neighbor and a former Catholic Worker herself! We are so grateful for the logo which really captures the fierce love of our namesake and the spirit of our Catholic Worker. Find Rosy at Paradise Home.

So Many Generous Household Donors and Volunteers

We have recieved so many items from so many generous donors. Please forgive us if we mistakenly omit your donation and rest assurred it is very much appreciated! We received a multitude of household items, chapel chairs and art pieces from the School Sisters of Notre Dame. The Sisters of the Divine Savior recently graced us with many wonderful resources to aid us in our walk with women survivors and a beautiful piece of art.. The Catholic Home, along with a generous donor, secured us quite a few pieces of furniture and household items for our living space. A very generous donor has provided us with a beautiful piano for our chapel. Two wonderful shelving units and many household items for our pantry and kitchen were gifted to us by dear friends of St. Bakhita House. And one thoughtful and generoud donor even gave us kitchen staples to stock our cabinets! Two beautiful couches were furnished by two generous donors for our family room and another donor provided area rugs. . A plethora of gorgeoous furniture fills our living room, dining room, bedrooms and hallway thanks to some dear friends. Divine Savior Holy Angels, Holy Apostles Women’s Prayer Group, and Marquette High School Mother’s Guild have sent us so many beautiufl brand new household items that will make life so much easier at Bakhita House. Exericse machines stand ready for health and wellness activiities in our large room downstairs thanks to a generous couple. Several generous donors have given us beautiufl works of art for our chapel and for what feels like our endless wall space. One family not only painted our patio furniture to match the furniture donation of another generous couple, but bought new cushions for the furniture they painted! We recieved a really solid lawn mower and weed trimmer from two donors and a quick repair from another! A group of dedicated and generous women from St. Dominics, as well as a friend of the Wauwatosa Quilting Club, adopted our bedrooms and furnished them fully and beautiuflly for the women who are survivors in our community. Finally, so many volunteers from St. Dominics, the Cathedral, Divine Savior Holy Angels, the East Side Parishes, and faithfilled friends—young and old—have given us countless hours of service. Lawn care, garbage duty, painting, cleaning, moving, hauling , disposing. . . you name it . . .they have been there. The Milwaukee Metro West 100+ Women Who Care gave us a very generous donation to take our women on special life giving outings. We stand in awe of each and every one of them. May God bless them for their commitment to living the Gospel. They bring so much hope and joy into a world that is yearning for love!
